Our game. Monster Country puts a haunted town to work. Rory Thompson is the town’s mayor and, after one unlucky jog past a portal, a werewolf. Mamba is a medusa hair stylist. Morgan is a witch who traded broom-riding for baking. Their story arrives in comic strips as you move through the town’s episodes.

You open businesses, buy customers and upgrade the characters who run them. From the second episode, a business can be automated once a named character reaches a set level, and it keeps earning while the app is closed. Events run alongside the main game with their own goals and leaderboards. It is free on iPhone and Android, with optional in-app purchases and rewarded ads you choose to watch.

The shared appeal is a funny supernatural cast with a story to follow. The difference is what you do: you choose which business and character to upgrade next, rather than furnish a house.

What happened to The Addams Family: Mystery Mansion? #

Animoca Brands announced the game’s global launch on iPhone, iPad and Android on October 10, 2019. It was developed by Pixowl, an Animoca subsidiary. Players helped Morticia and Gomez reunite the family and refurnish their home through story chapters, collecting characters and unlocking spooky decor.

When we checked on October 9, 2026, the game did not appear in Apple’s US App Store lookup, and its original Google Play page returned “not found.” We have not found an official announcement of a shutdown date or a reason. The original licensing announcement set a term “through 31 December 2024, unless renewed by both parties,” but that does not confirm when or why the game left the stores.
